Senior Sem Project: The Cycle
A downloadable game for Windows, macOS, and Linux
You want to start this game by heading straight into the town in your view and talking to the grey-haired woman. This is a metroidvania third-person RPG adventure game heavily inspired by the Legend of Zelda series. It was a bit of a rush job towards the end of development, so a list of controls and information can be found below. I had no way to check MacOS or Linux builds, but the Windows executable works. The UI got a bit messed up on the build, sorry about that. DATA IS NOT SAVED. I am so sorry if a bug causes it to crash or something. If you are trying to 'beat' the game but can't do it in one go, try pausing and leaving the browser open until you can come back. No one has tested the whole thing but me, but I think it could be beaten in an hour or two.
wasd- move
shift - sprint
mouse 0 - attack
escape - pause menu
q - inventory
e - interact (sometimes has prompts, sometimes not. Can interact with fruit trees to get food)
L - toggle lantern
T - toggle lens of truth
1- sword
2 - bow (when purchased)
f - unequip bow (When you are in firing position, position is locked. If 'f' is not pressed then you're stuck like that
3 - axe
North is uphill, towards the taller mountains. When entering a cave, if it is an entrance to another area you must walk all the way back. There is no true ending right now; once you find the correct grave at the end (the one that does not spawn a skeleton and is a circle with a cross in the middle), that is it.
There are lots of bugs and issues I am aware of, and likely 10 times more that I don't know. Mixamo was used for player model and animations. Even though the class is over I had a ton of fun making this and will keep working on it, so please let me know of any ideas, issues, or criticism you have!
